Panasonic TH-85PF12U
$30,000.00
Released October, 2009
The Pros:Massive 85" screen. Includes the latest NeoPDP panel technology - thin, energy efficient, beautiful picture. Actually lighter than previous generation designs.
The Cons:Extremely high price tag. 286 pounds. Questionable choice compared to cheaper DLP / projector based options.
The Panasonic TH-85PF12U is a luxurious 85” high-definition, professional plasma display released in October 2009 as the new flagship for their Premiere Plasma Series. It is the first plasma unit from Panasonic to include their NeoPDP technology, which enables the humongous unit to be only 3.9” thick, 286lbs heavy, AND energy efficient, while still delivering 1080p HDMI-quality content with a dynamic contrast ratio up to 2,000,000:1.

Included also is the ability to display approximately 6,144 steps of gradation, which is more than enough to account for deep-level blacks and the accurate colors representation needed to enjoy and appreciate modern video content. Signature to the TH-85PF12U is its multi-function slot architecture, developed to handle nearly any video input signal a user may desire to access: HDMI, component, PC, etc.
